Instructions

Slow Cooker Method:

  • Start by browning the beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. When there is still a tiny bit of pink in the skillet, add the onion and garlic. Continue to stir until the onions begin to soften and the garlic becomes fragrant, about 5-6 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from the heat.
  • Transfer the browned meat to a slow cooker pot. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, pickle relish, chili powder, cumin, coriander, brown sugar, tomato sauce, and ketchup. Stir well to combine.
  • Cook the sloppy joe filling for 3-4 hours on low, or 1-2 hours on high. Stir occasionally. Serve the hot sloppy joe filling on toasted sesame buns. Enjoy!

Alternative Stovetop Cooking Method:

  • Start by browning the beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. When there is still a tiny bit of pink in the skillet, add the onion and garlic. Continue to stir until the onions begin to soften and the garlic becomes fragrant, about 5-6 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, pickle relish, chili powder, cumin, coriander, brown sugar, tomato sauce, and ketchup. Stir well to combine.
  • Simmer the sloppy joe filling until thickened, about 30 minutes. Stir occasionally. Serve on toasted sesame buns. Enjoy!
